Her you will find the nominees to the University Board. The election period is May 2-7, 2025. The election starts at 9:00 AM on May 2 and ends at 12:00 PM on May 7.

Announcement

The Nomination Committee has been put to work. The Central Election Committee decided in its meeting on March 5, 2025, that none of the candidates will be announced before the Nomination Committee's proposal for candidates is approved by the Election Committee. The Nomination Committee has 14 days to propose candidates.

How to nominate candidates for Rector and Pro-Rector

The nomination must:

  • Include candidates for both Rector and Pro-Rector.
  • Ensure the Rector has professorial competence.
  • Be in writing and signed by at least five (max 10) employees and/or students. No one can sign more than one nomination.

Both internal and external candidates can be nominated.

The nomination must have been submitted to valgstyret@uib.no no later than
February 5, at 12:00 PM.

  • Nomination deadline is Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM.
  • Election period is March 24-27, 2025. The election starts at 9:00 AM on March 24 and ends at 12:00 PM on March 27.

To the University Board, the following will be elected:

  • Two members and at least two deputies from and among Group A (academic staff).
  • One member and at least two deputies from and among Group B (temporary academic staff).
  • One member and at least two deputies from and among Group C (technical and administrative staff).

There will be separate elections for group A, B, and C, but they will be held simultaneously.

How to nominate members to the University Board

  • The nomination must be signed by at least the same number of nominators as the number of candidates the nomination includes. No one can sign more than one nomination.
  • The nominated candidates must be eligible andÌýhave been asked if they are willing to run for election.
  • The nominated candidates must understand Norwegian.
  • The nomination must have been submitted to valgstyret@uib.no no later than March 5, at 12:00 PM.

Who has the right to nominate and vote

The right to nominate and vote is granted to those who, at the start of the election:

  • Are permanently employed in at least a half-time position, or
  • Are employed or engaged for at least one year in at least a half-time position, or
  • Have been continuously employed or engaged for at least one year in at least a half-time position.
