Why am I running for election?
The University of Bergen is an institution with an important societal mission: to generate and share knowledge that fosters development, critical thinking, and innovation. As the communications manager at the Division of Student Affairs, I have seen how clear and effective communication is crucial for strengthening the university’s role—both internally, by ensuring that students and staff have access to relevant information and a solid foundation for decision-making, and externally, by highlighting ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»®â€™s importance in society and facilitating an open and informed debate.
I am running for election because I want to help the university grow as an open, inclusive, and forward-thinking institution. With my broad experience in communication, strategy, and leadership—across academia, the cultural sector, and the media—I want to strengthen ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»®â€™s ability to engage with students, staff, and the broader society.
Throughout my career, I have held various leadership roles and gained extensive experience in media relations, crisis communication, and strategic planning. I also have valuable board experience, including positions in the Norwegian Civil Service Union (NTL) Vestland, NTL Theater, Orchestra, and Opera, as well as serving as a deputy board member at Den Nationale Scene.
Additionally, I have held board positions in sports and housing organizations, where I have contributed to developing and implementing major projects. This has given me a broad perspective that I believe would be valuable in board work.
ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® faces challenges related to funding, digital transformation—including how we best utilize artificial intelligence in research and education—as well as internationalization. I want to ensure that the university has a strong voice in public debates and that we make sound, long-term decisions that benefit both employees and students.
So why vote for me? Because I promise to come prepared, listen to arguments, and work for solid solutions — with a touch of humor and a lot of dedication.
Vote for a candidate who takes the work seriously, but not himself too seriously!
