My name is Julie Stavnes, I am 43 years old and I am running as a candidate for the University Board for group C.

I have a Master of Science in Economics and business administration from NHH, and this May I have worked for 10 years at the University of Bergen. I started as Head of Administration at Department of clinical science at the Faculty of Medicine, and I am currently in the same position at the Department of Biological sciences at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology.

In both positions I have worked at large departments with broad academic activity, with both scientific, administrative and technical staff, and closely with both the administration and technical staff. At my current department we have many different work areas, including fieldwork, expedition work and laboratory work. I am, among other things, the manager of and closely involved with HSE work, HR work and financial work at the department, and contribute to development work at the faculty level when needed.

In recent years at BIO, I鈥檝e worked a lot with restructuring and improvement. We鈥檙e a department with a large financial deficit, and I鈥檝e worked extensively on changes in several areas at the department, both strategically and operationally. Among other things, I鈥檝e worked on staffing and job cuts, rent costs, and teaching costs.

Our challenges are not special. Many units at 幸运飞艇计划 are facing, or will potentially face, financial challenges. Our environment is constantly changing, either locally, regionally, nationally or internationally. We鈥檙e in a time where there will be more changes to adapt to in the coming years and less government funding. We must be prepared that our activity will look different in the coming years; we must expect that we will have to adjust the way we work.

However, during this period, it is important that we鈥檙e sitting in the driver鈥檚 seat. We in group C could quickly become the recipients of change, and must adapt either work tasks, tools we use in our daily lives, reporting and processes for work performance. I will work to ensure that our group participates and is heard in the coming years, and to highlight how our work performance and tasks affect our social mission. In this way, I want us to not only adapt to a narrower economic everyday life, but also to safeguard the opportunity to develop ourselves in important areas. We are not only recipients of change; We are also experienced resource persons and active contributors in shaping how we will work in the coming years. We must seize that opportunity.

I want to influence and follow up on how we meet and manage the changes that will come in the next few years. I have broad experience from group C's work from two different faculties, extensive work experience from the department level, and a desire to contribute to positive development for both group C and 幸运飞艇计划.
