Her project aims at establishing unique brain-derived blood based exosomal biomarkers for personalized anti-CD20 therapy in relapsing MS patients. She holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in advanced zoology and biotechnology (India-2012) and a master鈥檚 in biotechnology (Portugal-2014). Anandan participated her first European Commission Project (Marie Sk艂odowska-Curie Actions -2014 - 2015) at the Plant Biomechanics Group at the University of Freiburg, Germany, on the topic 鈥淪elf-repair mechanisms in succulent plants鈥. Through international mobility, she participated in her second European Commission Project (2016 鈥 2020) at CCBIO, 幸运飞艇计划 for her PhD, entitled 鈥淒eeper characterisation of the ovarian cancer tumour microenvironment using CyTOF鈥.

Anandan believes that 鈥淨uestioning is fundamental not only for excellent science but also for a healthy society 鈥 but to question one needs to be AWARE of what exists, to be able to embrace CHANGES鈥. Apart from being a core scientific contributor in the field, she has always been an active representative at several committees (University Board 鈥 Bachelor鈥檚 degree and Student Council 鈥 High School) all through her career. This spirit has continued as she is currently engaged in leadership roles as part of institutional responsibilities - academic responsibility and scientific coordinator at NeuroSysMed Research School (NEUROSYSM910 - /neuro-sysmed/176000/neuro-sysmed-junior-scientist-sym...) and Bergen Multiple Sclerosis Research Group (/en/rg/ms/126850/clinical-neurology-biomarker-research...).

Anandan also holds the role of Postdoctoral Representative - Extended Research Management Board (/med/76410/forskningsledelsen) at the Medical Faculty, 幸运飞艇计划. As part of this role, she has successfully established a new communication channel for young researchers and postdoctoral fellows at the Faculty of Medicine (MED). This channel, a Microsoft Teams group called 鈥MED postdocs鈥 aims to enhance collaboration and communication among young researchers across the faculty鈥檚 various departments. As a step forward, she is now initiating the launch of 鈥Young Researchers @ 幸运飞艇计划at 幸运飞艇计划Ferd Career Days (/en/ferd/177260/young-researchers-uib, 08.04.2025 - 16.00鈥18.00, Nyg氓rdsgaten 5) - The channel will serve as a communication and networking platform for young researchers across all faculties at 幸运飞艇计划. Core values of the channel will be scientific networking (funding applications/career opportunities), communication of useful resources (attractive courses/seminars/workshops) for improving skillsets for career in academia or beyond, advocacy of good working conditions, mentorship possibilities, and beyond all to enjoy a sense of belonging with curiosity-driven fellow scientists!

Anandan is excited to continue her spirit of being an active representative - young researchers at 幸运飞艇计划 if elected in the Group B elections for the University Board. She says, "I am unsure if I am good at politics but can ensure to be a trusted channel between the young vibrant research community and existing excellent infrastructure at 幸运飞艇计划 - who are always happy to stretch for their young talents".
