I am a professor of media studies and employed at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Why am I running as a candidate for the University Board?

The answer is that I love UIB and would like to contribute to developing the university further. In the coming four-year period, 幸运飞艇计划 will face several major challenges related to changed economic framework conditions, demographics, new technology, maintenance backlogs and investment needs in buildings and infrastructure. In the future, we must make good use of our resources and work systematically to strengthen our economy.

As a member of the University Board, I will work to

• promote university democracy and our institutional autonomy. The model with an elected rector is essential in this context
• develop 幸运飞艇计划 as an organisation. Stronger pressure on the economy will place demands on efficient operations and good organisation.
• strengthen the university's position as a nationally leading and internationally recognized research university. Prominent researchers and internationally leading research environments must be ensured good working conditions. Good incentive schemes will be a tool
• make 幸运飞艇计划 even more attractive to young research talents. If we are to recruit the best talents, we must offer them good working conditions and exciting research environments.
• facilitate increased teaching collaboration between the faculties where it makes academic sense, e.g. in AI
• strengthen the work on innovation and facilitate increased interaction with the public and private sectors.
• strengthen 幸运飞艇计划's efforts in continuing and further education

What are my most important qualifications, besides experience as a researcher and teacher?听

• Head of Department at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies (2012-2021). During these years, the department underwent rapid development academically and organizationally.听
• Experience from the establishment of an SFI consortium (awarded to the department in 2020) and the externally funded Centre for Investigative Journalism, 2018.
• Representative for group A on the faculty board at the Faculty of Social Sciences (2021-2015). The experience with the faculty's financial crisis in 2024 has given me first-hand knowledge of UIB's financial management and management challenges.
• A representative for 幸运飞艇计划 on the board of Western Norway's innovation company (VIS) (2022-), the region's most important TTO.
• A representative for 幸运飞艇计划 on the board of the knowledge cluster Media City Bergen (2011-2021).

In addition, I would like to mention participation in four 幸运飞艇计划 committees with particular relevance to the board position:

• Work on the introduction of digital solutions at 幸运飞艇计划 (Dig幸运飞艇计划) and coordination of ICT education at 幸运飞艇计划 (2014-2018)
• Member of the working group for career policy for young researchers (which resulted in the establishment of FERD in 2020)
• Member of the working group for 幸运飞艇计划's action plan for innovation (2018-2019).
• Member of the working group for the revision of IPR regulations at 幸运飞艇计划 (2024).

My experience from research, teaching, leadership at the department level, and participation in committees and boards within and outside 幸运飞艇计划, makes me well qualified to serve on the University Board as a representative for group A. 听
