Leave

Here you will find information about how to request leave, as well as the most used types of leaves (excluding parental leave).

Requests for leave is to be done in the self-service portal. . A requeste for leave and a request for absence is not the same thing. Requests for absence are used for shorter periods of absence and agreed between you and your leader. Such types of absence include self-certification, sick child, compensatory time off and holiday.Ìý

Illness

If you are ill after exceeding your right to sickness benefits, you may apply for an unpaid leave. The leave type to be used is based on your situation, and must be one of the following:Ìý

  • Leave type 166 Sick leave with work clearance allowance, with disability pension in the Statens Pensjonskasse if you are applying for unpaid leave from ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® but receive benefits from NAV and SPK
  • Leave type 167 Sykepermisjon med arbeidsavklaringspenger, uten uførepensjon i Statens Pensjonskasse dersom duÌýskal ha ulønnet permisjon fra ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»®Ìýog kun motta AAP fra NAV.
  • Leave type 167 Sick leave with work clarification allowance, without disability pension in the Statens PensjonskasseÌýif you are applying for unpaid leave from ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® but receive benefits from NAV only and not from SPK
  • Leave type 168 Sick leave without work verification money, with disability pension in the Statens PensjonskasseÌýif you are applying for unpaid leave from ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® but receive benefits from SPK only and not from NAV
  • Leave type 169 Sick leave without work verification money, without disability pension in the State Pension FundÌýif you are applying for unpaid leave from ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® and are not receiving any otherÌýbenefits from SPK or NAV

Pregnancy and birth

If you are applying for pregancy or birth related leave, which is not covered by the parental benefit from NAV, you must use one of the following leave types:Ìý

  • Leave type 176 Leave during pregnancy if you are unable to perform your usual work due to risk to the fetus, and it is not possible for the work to be adapted or for you to be reassigned
  • Leave type 418 if yuo have not earned the right to parental leave from NAV. This leave type is also used if you are a foster parent and need to take unpaid leave for up to two weeks in connection with the transfer of care

Care and assistanceÌýÌý

If you are applying for leave due to taking care off or assist others, you must use one of the following leave types:

  • Leave type 435 Caring leave without pay in accordance with Section 20 of the General RegulationsÌýif you are takingÌýcare for children up to 12 years old and need unpaid leave for this matter. This type of leave requires that you have had the right to parental benefits from NAV. You are entitled to this type of unpaid leave for up to three years in total.Ìý
  • Leave typeÌý480 Leave without pay due to illness in the family if you are taking care f parents, spourse, partler or chronically ill child over 18 years.ÌýÌý
  • Leave typeÌý490 Leave in accordance with Section 10-2 of the Working Environment Act if you are 62 years old or older, or if you for other health or social welfare reasons are in need of leave.ÌýÌý
  • Leave typeÌý530 Welfare leave without pay for up to 1 month if you due to welfare reasons need leave for one month or less.Ìý
  • Leave typeÌý531 Welfare leave without pay for more than one month if you due to welfare reasons need leave for longer than one month.
  • Leave typeÌý461 Training moneyÌýif you are taking paid leave for courses or training due to the care of a child with a long-term illness or disability. This type of leave requires that you have applied for training allowance from NAV.
  • Leave type 462 Caring allowance for close relatives if you are taking paid leave to care for a close relative in the final stages of life. This type of leave requires that you have applied for care benefits from NAV.

Education and further education

If you are applying for leave due to education, you must use one of the following leave types:

  • Leave type 710 Statutory. Education leave in accordance with the Further Education Reform (EVU) with 100 % salaryÌýif you are attending further education in accordance toÌýSæravtale om permisjon og økonomiske vilkÃ¥r ved etter- og videreutdanning.
  • Leave type 720 Educational leave without pay in accordance with § 6 of the joint regulations if you are attending further education for the civil service.Ìý
  • Leave type 721 Short-term educational leave without pay in accordance with § 6 of the joint regulations if you need short-term leave ti attend further education for the civil service.Ìý
  • Leave type 730 Educational leave without pay, without reference to § 6 of the joint regulations if you are participating in organized educational programs and have been employed at ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® for at least 2 years and have been in the workforce for at least 3 years.
  • Leave type 735 Study trip abroad without pay for up to 1 monthÌýif you are going onÌýa study trip abroad for 1 month or less.Ìý
  • Leave type 736 Study trip abroad without pay for more than 1 month if you are going onÌýa study trip for more than 1 month.
  • Leave type 760ÌýNordic exchange scheme (NORUT)Ìýif you are working for another Nordic administration with financial support from the Nordic Council of Minister. Ìý

Military and Civil Service

If you are applying for leave due to military anf civilian service, you must use one of the following leave types:

  • Leave type 310 Military/civilian service without pay Militær-/siviltjeneste uten lønn if you are attending mandatory or voluntary military or civilian service and have not at least 6 months of continous service in the state tariff area.
  • Leave type 315 Military service without pay for service abroadÌýif you are attending vonultary service in forces organized by Norwegian authorities for participation in international peace operations.Ìý
  • Leave type 320 Military/civilian service with 100 % payÌýif you are attending mandatory or voluntary military or civilian service and have at least 6 months of continous service in he state tariff area. If the service last for more than 7 days, deduction are made from the salary for service allowances.Ìý
  • Leave type 325 Military repetition service with full pay if youÌýhave at least 6 months of continous service in the state tariff area and are attending repition exercises.ÌýIf the service last for more than 7 days, deduction are made from the salary for service allowances.
  • Leave type 330 Military/civilian service with 1/3 payÌýif youÌýhave at least 6 months of continous service in the state tariff area, are attending initial service, and do not have any dependents.

Positions and roles outside ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»®

If you are applying for leave due to positions and roles outside ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»®, you must use one of the following leave types:

  • Leave type 660 Section 40 of the main agreement if you need leave due to your representative role in your employee organization.
  • Leave type 670 Section 41 of the main agreement if you are going to work as an officer in youÌýemployee organization for up to 3 years.Ìý
  • Leave type 830 Leave with pay when serving in an international organisationÌýif you are participating in a help organization in connection with an emergency response. If you are a leading representative orÌýdistric leader, you may receive salary for up to 1 week.Ìý
  • Leave type 850 Leave without pay when serving in an international organisation if you are accompanying your spouse to work in an international organisation.Ìý
  • Leave type 860 Leave without pay when transferring to a new position in the state if you temporarly are to take other employment within the state.Ìý
  • Leave type 865 Leave without pay for relocation due to spouse´s obligation to order if your spouse or partner is requires to move in their job, and you are accompaying them to the new place of service.Ìý
  • Leave type 870 Leave without pay when transferring to a new position outside the state ifÌýyou temporarly are to take other employment outsideÌýthe state.
  • Leave type 880 Leave without pay for performing municipal and county duties with payment of pension contributionsÌýif you are to perform municipal and county municipal duties over a longer period and have the right to maintain your membership in SPK.
  • Leave type 881 Leave without pay for performing municipal and county duties without payment of pension contributions if you are to perform municipal and county municipal duties over a longer period and have not the right to maintain your membership in SPK.
  • Leave type 890 LEave without pay for performance of duties as judge/co-judge with payment of pension contributionsÌýif you areÌýperforming duties as a lay judge over a longer period and have the right to maintain membership in SPK.

Change of approved leaveÌýÌý

If your application for leave has already been approved, and you want to change the leace, you must submit an application for changing the leave. This application is not digital, and is unfortunately only available in Norwegian as to this date. .Ìý

The application must be completed by you and your leader, and your leder or local HR must submit the completed form to the Service centre for salary, travel and absence. The service centre will change your leave after receiving the form. If the change applies retroactively, any wrongful salary may be deducted from your next salary payment.Ìý

If you have been granted partial leave due to health-related reasons, and need to take unpaid sick leave in additon to this over a longer period, you should consider changing your leave to avoid unpaid sick leave.Ìý
