Research in nonlinear waves includes the study of ocean waves, coastal hazards, wave energy, and CO2 storage. Of interest are also mathematical problems in fluid mechanics, such as existence and stability of solutions. Techniques used include mathematical modeling, analysis of differential equations, numerical simulation, laboratory experiments as well as field measurements and observations.
