Our research interests

Main content

The research interests in our group span across several scales in time and space and different disciplines, such as theory, observation and modeling. Our activities can mainly be separated in research on atmospheric dynamics, boundary layer meteorology, atmospheric 听 transport modelling,听atmosphere-ocean-ice interactions,听radiation听and the atmospheric water cycle (using stable听isotopes).

Atmospheric Dynamics

Atmospheric dynamics deals with the physical understanding of the atmospheric flow. In our group we have particular foci on cyclones, storm tracks, meso-scale flow over and around mountains and Arctic weather.

Atmosphere-Ocean-Ice Interactions

The ocean and sea ice system are primarily driven by the atmospheric circulation and surface radiation budget, through momentum and buoyancy fluxes. We investigate the interplay between these systems on various space and time scales.
