The Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Foundation was founded in 2009 and has since established 14 K.G. Jebsen Centers for Medical Research in collaboration with Norwegian medical faculties and university hospitals. At present four such centres have their base at the University of Bergen and Haukeland University Hospital.聽

The K.G. Jebsen centers form part of the foundation鈥檚 program for translational medicine. The long-term aim is to facilitate the transfer of new understandings into the development of new or improved methods for diagnosis, therapy, and prevention.

K. G. Jebsen Centre for MS Research

The centre works to identify biomarkers with high sensitivity and specificity for multiple sclerosis. Much of the research conducted is made possible by access to samples from the unique Norwegian MS Registry and Biobank.

K.G. Jebsen Centre for Research on Neuropsychiatric Disorders

The centre works with interdisciplinary translational research on neuropsychiatric disorders, Particular emphasis is placed on attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and related neurodevelopmental disorders.

K. G. Jebsen Center for Diabetes Research

The center aim to uncover the causes of diabetes and develop treatment methods by integrating the findings from large-scale genetic investigations and model systems with clinical research.
