PhD candidate Siddharth Shanbhag won this year鈥檚 at the that took place in听Vienna, Austria听this September. Siddharth won the award for his presentation "Characterization of Human Gingiva-derived Progenitor Cells in Serum-free Cultures". The second winner was Victor Tollemar from Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. The winners will participate at the in London in July 2018.
Siddharth Shanbhag is a PhD candidate at the Department of Clinical Dentistry. His research project aims to characterize stem/progenitor cells from oral tissues and to optimise humanised (animal serum-free) culture conditions for their expansion and differentiation. He is a member of Tissue Engineering research group at the department.
