Adrian Drazic receives Meltzer prize for young researchers

Adrian Drazic, post doctor at the Department of Biomedicine, is one of the recipients of this years award for outstanding young researchers by the Meltzer Foundation.

The Meltzer Foundation annually awards prizes to younger researchers, dissemination聽prizes, and every five years they may award聽an honorary prize.

This year, the prize for younger researcher went to Adrian Drazic, a young research talent at the Department of Biomedicine. Drazic is a postdoctoral researcher in the Arnesen laboratory and has been involved in the discovery of an enzyme that modifies actin.

Did you know...

The Meltzer award for outstanding young researcher has been awarded since 1985.

This is聽the sixth time that a research talent at the Department of Biomedicine has received the award.

Previous prize winners were: Harald Barsnes (2014), Karl Johan Tronstad (2004), Aurora Martinez (1999), Clive Bramham (1996), Anders Goks酶yr (1989).

Putting a break on cell movement

These researchers have made a sensational finding in cell biology. Adrian Drazic, Henriette Aksnes and Micha毛l Marie from Thomas Arnesen's group found an enzyme that others have been looking for for 30 years.
