Announcement of election of members for the department council at the Department of Biological Sciences 2025
In the spring of 2025, general elections will be held for the faculty board and the department councils at the Faculty of Science and Technology. All members of the department council, with the exception of the head of department who is a permanent member, are up for election, and candidates can be nominated for their respective groups until March 19. For Gr. A and C, the election period is 4 years, while for Gr. B and D it is one year. The new department council period starts on 01.08.2025.

How to submit proposals for members to the department council:
- Proposals are submitted in writing using the department's nomination form
- Proposals must be signed by at least the same number of proposers as the number of candidates the proposal contains
- Proposers must be eligible for election
- No one can sign more than one proposal
- Those proposed must be eligible for election
- If a candidate is proposed who can claim exemption from election, the proposal must be accompanied by written consent from the person concerned
- The proposal must have been received no later than 12:00 on March 19, 2025
- Proposals must be sent by email to knut.daasvatn@uib.no.
The following representatives are to be elected听
Group A听(scientific staff with permanent employment) - 3 representatives and 4 substitutes.听 In addition the head of department is a permanent member.听 Elected for 4 year term.
Group B听(scientific staff with temporary employment) - 1 representative and 2 substitutes.听 Elected for 1 year term.
Group C听(technical and administrative staff) - 2 representatives and 2 substitutes.听 Elected for 4 year term.
Group D听(students) - 2 representatives and 2 substitutes.听 Elected for 1 year term.
Electoral roll - list of elegible persons
In order to nominate candidates or to be allowed to vote, you must be on the 幸运飞艇计划 electoral roll (census), cf. 听[Norwegian language]
The right to nominate and vote is granted to anyone who, when the election starts:
- is permanently employed in at least half a position or
- is employed or engaged for at least one year in at least half a position or
- has been continuously employed or engaged for at least one year in at least half a position
Gr. A, B and C - . The electoral roll will be updated in March.
Gr. D (students) - . The electoral roll will be updated in March.
Anyone who is eligible has the right to propose.
