The Reservoir Physics – Energy Technology and CO2ÌýStorage (CCUS) Research Group at the Department of Physics and Technology emphasizes research and educationÌýwithinÌýsubsurfaceÌýenergyÌýsecurity &ÌýefficiencyÌýand reducedÌýgreenhouse gas emissions.ÌýOur currentÌýfocus areasÌýare:
- CO2Ìýstorage in saline aquifers and mature reservoirs
- Hydrogen flow dynamicsÌý
- CO2Ìýmobility control using foam andÌýpolymers
- Carbon neutral gas production from methane hydrate
Energy Technology and CO2ÌýStorage are selected by the University of Bergen as areas of special importance with respect both to research and educational programs.
Ìý
The University of Bergen offers a 5-year engineering degree in Energy,Ìýa 2-year master's programme in Reservoir and GeoenergyÌýand a continuing education course in carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS). The Research Group is responsible for teaching courses in the energyÌýprogrammes and offers research based education within the master programs.
