The University of Bergen (ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»®) is a research-intensive university where sustainability is, and has long been, a natural and integral part of all of our activities. We focus on sustainability in our research, education, innovation and operations. On these pages you will find some examples of how we work on sustainability in these areas, as well as an overview of future events and relevant matters.

PhD Candidate Sejal Pramlall from the University of Bergen, Norway

French award for young ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® ocean researcher

PhD candidate Sejal Pramlall is one of five young ocean researchers to be given the French Institute Nordic Award (FINA). The award will fund her participation at the third UN Ocean Conference in Nice in France in June.

ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® reappointed SDG14 ocean hub for UNAI

The University of Bergen has been confirmed as the UNAI SDG14 Hub Chair for 2025-2027 taking on three more years of responsibility to engage the global knowledge community in matters related to a sustainable ocean.

The Geomicrobiology Laboratory at ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® becomes the first public laboratory in Norway to receive the environmental certification from My Green Lab. The work on the certification has been done with support from the ÐÒÔË·Éͧ¼Æ»® Climate Fund.
