Understanding the Obesity-Cancer Connection
Lead by principle investigator Nils Halberg, we are听a young and dynamic international research group, integrated into听the Metabolism and Cancer unit at the Department of Biomedicine.
Having started in 2015 with support from Bergen Research Foundation, the Halberg lab utilizes听in vitro听and听in vivo听experimental cancer systems and metabolic analysis combined with contemporary molecular biology and clinical bioinformatics approaches听to systemically elucidate the mechanisms by which cancer cells exploit an altered metabolic environment to promote metastatic colonization.
