Education and research

Transfer of knowledge from health ambassador project with the University of Gdansk

The Pandemic Centre will collaborate with the University of Gdansk to exchange experiences from the health ambassdor project that was organized in Bergen during the covid 19-pandemic. The goal is to adapt the same model in a polish context and among Ukrainian immigrants in Poland.

Strengthens pandemic understanding through PhD-course

PhD-students with different backgrounds are participating in the Pandemic Centre's interdisciplinary PhD-course this semester. The students hope the course will give them a broader understanding of the complex issues during a pandemic.

First article from a PhD at the Pandemic Center published

PhD candidate Pierina Benavente at the Pandemic Center has recently published her first article in an international journal. In the article, she presents findings about the health situation among migrant working in Norway during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Leah will explore connections between the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukrainian refugee-crisis

Fulbright-student Leah Eliza Balter from the United States has recently started a new research-project at The Pandemic Centre. She will explore how Norway鈥檚 Covid-19 experiences may have influenced the response to the Ukrainian refugee crisis that happened simultaneously.

Professor at the Pandemic Center leads two international committees

Professor Preben Aavitsland at the Pandemic Center is head of two international committees appointed by WHO's Director-General to advise WHO on how the covid-19 pandemic and mpox-outbreak should be handled in the coming years.

During the visit of a Norwegian delegation to Nepal, the Pandemic Centre traced its intention to partner with the newly established Pandemic & Disaster Preparedness Centre at Dhulikhel University Hospital.

Several African countries are experiencing food-shortages and stop in trade as a result of the pandemic and closed borders. 幸运飞艇计划-student Ma茂lys Rouill茅 went to West-Africa to do fieldwork among fish-traders who had their livelihoods reduced.

The Pandemic Centre starts interdiciplinary course to learn from the Covid-19 pandemic

In january the Pandemic Centre will offer a two-weeks course for students to learn from the Covid-19 pandemic. The course is open to both PhD-students and Master students from all diciplines at the university.
