NFR Proposal Workshop
Main content
In collaboration with the Faculty of Social Science, the Faculty of Humanities has developed an ‘NFR Timeline’ for researchers considering or planning to apply for a FRIPRO or thematic research project call from the Research Council of Norway (NFR). This timeline consists of several workshops designed to assist in the development of the application, ensuring it can be finalized and submitted by Spring 2025. The workshops are open to academic staff at all career stages.
This is the final event for this Spring. The workshop will focus entirely on group work, where participants provide feedback on each other’s application drafts. Each participant will receive an application to review in advance. Participation requires that you have an almost completed application.
The deadline for submitting your draft is May 12th. Drafts should be sent to boa-hf@uib.no. After submission, the applications will be distributed among the participants. Each participant will be responsible for reading and preparing feedback for one application but is encouraged to read several. The workshop will function as a mock panel, where everyone gives a brief introductory presentation about their project in the group. The groups will consist of 3 to 4 participants.
When you read the applications, you should evaluate them on the following criteria from NFR:
Excellence
- Potential for advancing the state-of-the-art
- Quality of R&D activities
Impact
- Potential impact of the proposed research
- Communication and exploitation
Implementation
- The quality of the project manager and project group
- The quality of the project organisation and management
