It is our great pleasure to welcome you to this issue of the Proceedings of the ACM on Human-聽Computer聽Interaction, the second to focus on the contributions from the research community聽Interactive Surfaces and聽Spaces (ISS). Interactive Surfaces and Spaces increasingly pervade our聽everyday life, appearing in various聽sizes, shapes, and application contexts, offering a rich variety of聽ways to interact. This diverse research聽community explores the design, development, and use of聽new and emerging interactive surface technologies聽and interactive spaces.
