Systematic reviews and meta-analyses course
CISMAC, one of 幸运飞艇计划鈥檚 SFFs, is committed to training the next generation of research leaders involved in improving mother- and child-care in low- and middle-income countries. June 2019, the CIH-CISMAC Research School hosted a course in systematic reviews and meta-analyses, as it is important that health care professionals understand what systematic reviews are, and know something about how to implement them in practice.

Students clearly felt听that there is a need for this course. Offered in collaboration with the 听and the , there were 25 students from 10 different countries.
What is a systematic review?
According to , the Cochrane network of institutions to promote evidence-based health care and public health,
鈥淎 systematic review summarises the results of available carefully designed healthcare studies (controlled trials) and provides a high level of evidence on the effectiveness of healthcare interventions. Judgments may be made about the evidence and inform recommendations for healthcare.鈥�
As mentioned above, one of the partners offering this course is the , which is the Norwegian satellite of Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC). On their website they state that:
鈥淭he scope of the Cochrane EPOC group is to undertake systematic reviews of interventions designed to improve health professional practice and the organisation of health care services.鈥�
