BBB webinar: Bjarne Bogen
Novel vaccines against infectious diseases and cancer (Vaccibodies)
Main content
Department of Immunology, Institute of Clinical Medicine, University of Oslo, and Oslo University Hospital
The talk will outline strategies for vaccination with an emphasis on genetic vaccines (RNA and DNA). It will then be explained how immunogenicity of DNA vaccines can be improved by constructing the DNA vaccine in such a way that a vaccine protein is expressed which targets dendritic cells for induction of strong T and B cell responses. This principle is the basis for Vaccibody vaccines. It will be described how this vaccine strategy can be used to enhance vaccines against infectious diseases (influenza) and cancer.
