Personal and聽academic background聽

I decided to apply for the research track after a series of inspiring lectures on medical ethics in my second year of medical school. I had聽some聽experience with quantitative research, the kind you do in a petri-dish in a sterile laboratory with聽pipettes, and聽thought that research probably聽was not聽for me.

Discovering that with BCEPS聽I would have the opportunity to do聽qualitative聽research and聽conduct my own聽fieldwork while being supervised by seriously talented academics and doctors, was聽kind of mind blowing.聽

Research topic聽

My research聽project聽is聽within maternal and newborn health in Ethiopia, exploring the concept of moral distress and other ethical challenges clinicians聽face聽in their daily medical practice. I believe that to ensure quality healthcare, for mothers and babies everywhere, we need to know more about how clinicians聽in hospitals and health centers聽are coping聽with their challenging work environment.聽
